What is the Colon?

The Colon also known as the large intestine is the major and final part of the digestive system.  It is a segmented tube that is approximately 1.6 metres long and approximately 7 centimetres wide.  The main responsibility of the large intestine is the absorption of water, vitamins and minerals and elimination of waste products and toxins.  The two way membrane of the colon allows for the absorption of nutrients into the blood.  It is a very important organ and plays a significant role in maintaining good health.

The colon has reflex points that correspond with different organs and glands.  At the Colonic Wellness Clinic we use the "Brunelle Method" of colon hydrotherapy that will stimulate these reflex points thereby improving general wellbeing.
