What causes our colon (bowel) to become clogged and toxic?

After many years of treating people with colon hydrotherapy, almost every person suffers from some aspect of irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) and constipation.  Also researching and learning the cause, treatment and management of Irritable bowel syndrome, I have learnt through these experiences that the following are causes of a clogged and toxic bowel:

• Too busy and stressful lifestyle.
• Uneducated or lazy diet choices with hard to digest foods.
• Not chewing food well enough.
• Lack of fibre in the diet.
• Junk and processed foods.
• Saturated fats.
• Lack of exercise.
• Passive exposure to environmental pollutants and chemicals.
• Exposure to occupational toxic pollutants.
• Not drinking enough water.
• Constant negative attitude or thoughts.
These causes put a strain on our bodies and we are unable to rid ourselves of toxins efficiently.

Some people may also develop the following conditions:

Even if you think you are regular over the years you can still accumulate waste material in the bowel.  A healthy transit time of food through our bodies is 18-26 hours – on average it is now 60 hours for men and 70 hours for women.  If a person eats three meals a day, he or she should have at least two or three bowel movements per day.  Most people only have one or less bowel movements a day.  Colon hydrotherapy can greatly assist in the excretion of waste material before it ferments and putrefies within the colon.

People can have approximately 5kg of accumulated old faecal matter and muco-plaque build up within their bowel.  Some intestines, when autopsied, have weighed up to 40 pounds and were distended to a diameter of 12 inches with only a pencil-thin channel through which the faeces can move.  However it is not just the weight of accumulated faecal matter itself that contributes to excess body weight.  Once the colon is clean, the metabolism is more likely to work as it should and when it happens, a major obstacle of weight loss is eliminated.
